Author Kloves’ prompting debut is trendy and self assured, with some awesome scenes and set pieces, although it skimps on tale-and by no means seriously fleshes out Jeff Bridges’ morose personality. The Bridges brothers are impeccably cast, Pfeiffer is superlative. Her misty rendition of “Makin’ Whoopee”, although piano pondered a little, is classic. Cast includes Jeff Bridges, Michelle Pfeiffer, Dude Bridges, Ellie Raab, and Jennifer Tilly. (113 minutes, 1989)
The Last Samurai: This is a true epic story of a lost soldier who winds up fighting a war in a far away land. Hired by the emperor of Japan to train his army, he is quickly captured by the Samurai he was training the army to defeat. Living amongst these great people he comes to believe in the way of the Samurai. He winds up fighting on their side, with all of his heart.
Step Brothers: Two forty years old losers are about to have their cozy little lives thrown into chaos. They are about to become roommates, as their parents are getting married. Will these to lazy bums ruin everything, or can the family survive.
Infra-Man: Princess Dragon Mama Liu and her strange variety of beast underlings try to take over the world-and it’s Infra-Gentleman to save the day. The flick is action-bundled, with gloriously cheesy discussion dubbed, bizarre costumes and sets, satisfactory visual effects. Cast includes Wang Hsieh, Yuan Guy, Terry Liu, Tsen Shuyi, Huang Chien-lung, and Lu Sheng. (92 minutes, 1976)

The Last Time I Committed Suicide: Mordantly stylized, stereotype-encumbered tale of beat writer Neal Cassidy ostensibly based on a letter he once inscribed to Jack Kerouac. Completely unsympathetic, angst-filled characters are set to even better disadvantage by a jumpy camcorder and abrasive lighting. Cast includes Thomas Jane, Keanu Reeves, Adrien Brody, John Doe, Claire Forlani, Jim Haynie, Marg Helgenberger, and Lucinda Jenney. (93 minutes, 1997)
Eagle’s Wing: The lord on no account meant penguins to soar or the British to make Westerns. This is a boring, artsy glop intertwining movie. Billy Williams’ lush cinematography doesn’t help. Cast includes Martin Sheen, Sam Waterston, Caroline Langrishe, Harvey Keitel, Stephane Audran, John Castle, and Jorge Luke. (111 minutes, 1979)
